Alexanders at PCD London 2026

Alexanders Bermuda was pleased to participate in the PCD London Conference, held on 17 June 2026 at Drapers’ Hall. The annual gathering brought together leading advisers and family office professionals to discuss key issues in international private client practice.

James Watlington, Founder and Chairman of Alexanders Bermuda, and Belaid Jheengoor, Director, presented on “The Bermuda Proposition: Family Office Perspectives”, making the practical case for how Bermuda fits within a modern, multi-jurisdictional family office structure.

Their presentation explored where Bermuda genuinely adds value: as a governance and continuity platform, a jurisdiction with real depth in trust law, and one that continues to evolve. Key themes included the use of section 47 of Bermuda’s Trustee Act to update existing structures, tools for aligning family capital with values through Bermuda’s Benefit Entity model, the Economic Investment Residential Certificate and related residential options, and the jurisdiction’s structuring toolkit for private investments, digital assets, and captive insurance as a risk management tool.

The session also addressed Bermuda’s approach to privacy, balancing transparency obligations with structured and legally governed confidentiality.

The presentation concluded with an overview of the Alexanders offering, including the firm’s expansion into Mauritius, the due diligence and source of funds capability of its London office, and its collaboration with Andersen Global in Bermuda.
